I have a friend who says his dad is vegetarian, he eats fish though. So I tell him "He's not a vegetarian-he's a pescetarian", but then he said "He eats sausages sometimes"

Anyway, anything to make him look good, eh?:D That's the reason they called themselves "Nationalist Socialists", so they could beat the communist party! It doesn't really matter whether he was or wasn't, but I just thought he wasn't!:p

oh it does not at all really matter, though it is somewhat strange a man could find eating meat barbaric yet be the man behind some of the barbaric things ever done to humantiy.

he also had bad gas problems, and i am not talking about the camps.:p

He liked cocaine. and he did like sausages, but not the breakfast kind.

i saw a program not too long ago, and a book about the same subject, about all the speed his dr was basically shooting him up with on a daily basis.well pill and in needles.

I guess you think the holocaust was a joke

practicing for being a journalist
;)

it was no joke, horrible horrible period in humanity, and i want to go out on a limb here, and say one thing about the holocaust.i blame hitler.

I heard the tail end of a report on the radio earlier about how gun and ammo sales are way up lately... most likely prepping in case Obama becomes President (i.e. tighter/enforced gun control laws)

I admit, before I heard 'why', I thought they were arming themselves expecting post-election riots or something. :o Just my paranoid mind at work. Or is it...?:p

It's pretty scary that so many people already own guns, which are mostly used to hurt people and animals. Only law enforcement should carry weapons. But I don't know what the answer is...

i have lived in 2 states where carrying guns is very common and i found that in those places there was much less gun crime than in places where getting a gun is hard or bringing it with you outside of specific purposes is illegal.

i don't know if we need stricter laws.. just better laws.

the biggest problem with making guns illegal is the criminals will still find a way to get them and they will know they have little to fear.

i also do not believe that the government should have access to things the people don't have access to. if they want to ban guns, ban them from the military too :D

Yes but it should be with far stricter laws, training, regulation and a psych test.

On top of that - personally? I would require every gun owner to look at pictures of dead children that died at the hands of a self inflicted gun shot wound either accidental or on purpose.

I have no need for a gun so I do not own one. I must say though that I would never own or keep a weapon in a home with children. No matter how smart you think you are your children are smarter and can find any key, get into any lock and figure out how to use any firearm.

I have seen the terrible results of kids who get their hands on firearms too many times. Remember parents - no matter how smart or educated you believe your kids to be... all it takes is for one kid to make fun of another kid in such a way that the gloves come off.

I had a conversation with a friend of mine from Glasgow who was entering the policy academy and he said the same thing; that knives are the even deadlier weapon.

I guarantee you that I can inflict more damage with a gun than a knife. Many people do not know how to properly inflict maximum damage with a knife. They simply believe it is a thrusting or stabbing or slashing motion. That makes them inexperienced.

A gun? - steady and squeeze. There is little technique if you have the patience. Knives are too personal and up close. Too many mistakes can occur.

I don't wanna. :(

A police officer that lives near me lost his child last year. His guns were properly locked up and ammunition was separated. After awhile the kid figured out where the keys to everything were.

That child took his own life (allegedly it was accidental but rumors persist)

If I lived in a safe area I would not want to own a gun. In fact I don't even own it myself, my boyfriend does.

The Texas law allow you to have access to it? I have heard that in some areas only registered gun owners can have access to the firearm but those residing in the same household are not to have access.

I don't know. I don't touch it. I'm scared of it, to be honest. :o

Very well said.

I own guns.
I hope I never have to use one of them for self defense, but if an intruder breaks into my home I won't hesitate.

There comes a fine line of the magnitude of allowed weapons. No one wants a guy storing a SAM in their shed.

look, i love guns, but i keep none in my home, having guns around is bad karma
and i have never once regretted not being armed with a firearm anymore
it gives one a false sense of security
however, guns are fun & being a real good shot is one of the things i excelled at early in my life :guitar:
so, i still go shooting about once a year with my step dad
he's got all our guns locked up, mine, his, and all the guns he inherited from his father
but when my step dad dies, i am going to have to face this difficult issue head on, hopefully i will not have to do that for a long time
but i really dont know what i will do with our family arsenal
i suppose i will have to sell them and divide the money i get for them with my brothers :o
but i dont know, if i thought i had to, then i might just hide them
dont get me wrong not because i think a cache of small arms would be very useful should 'the revolution come' but there are other scenarios in which i can imagine our weapons being useful maybe
what i think needs to really happen though is that gun control should be phased in gradually
production of new firearms should be heavily taxed
and old weapons, such as those in my family should allowed to be inherited...
