I've not seen this clip before. What does he expect from air travel, airports etc? Maybe he should have chosen another career, or got a job in the corner shop and cycled to work (being very careful to not catch his flares in the chain). He's a d..k
You’ve never seen The Importance of Being Morrissey????

After Perth, Auckland and possible Quarry cancellations in January, it will be "10 years of WPINOYB live @the100club". Sorry, too good.

One thing is definitely clear here. Whether you are a Morrissey defender or hater or you are apathetic and indifferent, or anywhere in between, EVERYONE would like to know the real reason behind why Morrissey cancels his scheduled concerts so f**king often. I mean, I'm sure he has canceled for a plethora of reasons in the past, but there is something terribly wrong with this behavior. I am quite certain that no one in the history of live musical performance has anyone canceled more shows than he has throughout his entire career. We are all left wondering and concerned with the truth that lies behind this type of conduct and attitude.

I was just doing some reading and apparently the total amount of canceled shows is now at 300.

Many, many, many years ago. If it's from there, it simply slipped my mind. He's still a d..k though, more so than ever before. Will there be a DVD entitled The Unimportance of Being Morrissey"? There should be!

Well, maybe the flight was already booked anyway. It’s a nice country to visit.
Keep going. The gold medal for mental gymnastics is looming.

Unless there is some serious issue behind these recent cancellations, rather than cancelling gigs on a whim, it is quite pathetic really. My interest is waning.

The fact that he’s not released a solid album in nearly 15 years doesn’t make matters easier to stomach. Dog was much better than WPINOYB and the god awful LIHS, but it was still very uneven with several real clunkers. His erratic behavior was easier to forgive back when he seemed to give a toss about his art.

I really feel sorry for the true believers here who continually defend him no matter what he says or does. It must take enormous energy and dedication to do this day after day after day. I would certainly admire your love and loyalty if it weren't for the fact that it is directed towards someone
completely unworthy of your devotion. When my own strong feelings for Moz finally broke down it was like admitting to myself that I was in an unhealthy and abusive relationship! I had to get out of it. What do you gain by arguing day after day with his detractors? Does this make you feel closer to him? Do you really think he cares about you? Do you believe the boiler plate declarations of love he gives his audiences? He certainly makes sublimely beautiful music, but I personally don't believe a word he says.

Protect yourselves true believers. Diversify your love. There are other heroes you can revere. You are in an abusive relationship.
Believe me, this dedication is not wasted here: it's when you want, the amount you want, and you stop whenever you want -just switch off the phone. It's way better spent on a great author and singer than on toxic relatives who know where you leave, and what you do every day, and who do spend their whole energy to ruin your life -yes, you don't know my mother-in-"low" 🖐
(running gag here, see post #118)

Totally agree. It's quite laughable how someone can, imo, sabotage/damage/f..k up to this degree. It seems like anything that can be f..ked up will be. Like I said, my interest is waning, I'm not a daft young kid any more.

You see, thus is why I'm glad he's getting old. Because age will put him in his place if nothing else does--and he REALLY needs putting in his place. I mean, who the f*** does he think he is? Some guy who wrote some clever/quaint lyrics ONCE UPON A TIME and now he thinks he's the f***ing queen of france?! What-the-f***-ever, dude. Who knows, maybe age is already putting him in his place. Maybe incontinence makes it impossible for him to go onstage and board planes, maybe that's why he wears the baggy trousers? Did anyone think of THAT???
Please don't be unfair: don't compare "queen of france" Mrs. Bridget "Macaroon" 🤭 with our still handsome idol!

Dodwell to the rescue. Really, we need some clear facts about his enormous relevance today, best fans, sold-out tours everywhere, evil record companies and the downfall of pop culture.

the impression is that Moz doesn't really care... Twelve shows scheduled between November and December, six were cancelled. The half! This is very sad.

"Things" that once meant a lot to you, are given a lot of credit, but not a free ride.
No, and that’s fine, it’s just funny how a lot of the same posts get repeated ad infinitum.

But that’s fine too, this site needs discussion and venting. Otherwise it’d be dead and buried.

The question is whether it is in the nature of many people to enjoy witnessing the fall of the mighty or whether they still want to enjoy the relevance, music and lyrics of their childhood heroes when they are over 50. Why, for example, has Paul Weller managed to keep his fans happy for decades? Is "On Sunset" just as good as "Wild Wood" or does uncle Paul just make up for it with live performances where everyone gets something and the new material is not defiantly omnipresent.

Please, don't worry about me. I don't have a relationship with Morrissey.

It's just unconditional love.

And I'm looking forward to his show in São Paulo next February. But, if he for some reason won't come, I'll still love him all the same.

Maybe because he was a socialist and still is? Like Billy Bragg?

I think Morrissey is a much more interesting artist, whether I agree with his ‘views’ or not.

For me it’s all about the songs and Morrissey’s songs are much above Weller’s or Bragg’s for me.
I also think he has a lot more global success than either of those, not that it matters.

Is there a Paul Weller-solo.com? Just curious.

No tell the truth you like watching Morrissey being Morrissey your interest can't be his setlist, he has not released a record in 4 years, everyone seems to dislike his band, he cancels concerts because he can't be bothered with no explanation, and this so called fan site is something he detests. It's the interest in seeing one of the greatest lyricist / singers in history slowly disintegrate by his own choosing and it's clear he does not very much care about any of it one way or the other. On the other hand we have Johnny Marr badly singing Smiths songs that any run of the mill cover band can do better.
