Actually, had, for instance, You Have Killed Me been polled on the week of its release it would have got a much lower rating than it will do now. For some reason, Morrissey songs, his singles in particular, are received quite harshly at first and then grow more popular retrospectively. For me, That's How People Grow Up is easily of equal stature to the Ringleader singles and far superior to Boy Happy. And for me, better than Far-Off Places, Dear God, and Work of Art too.
