oh, I forgot He knows I'd love to see him. One of the best songs ever made!
So are you ranking the studio version of Jack the Ripper as #1?
Make us our favourite Jam"
i really like tony the pony believe it or not am i the only one???
Jack the Ripper is one of Moz's best songs, period. It's scandalous how it was only a b-side. Why oh why didn't he make it a single!? Does anyone now this? I'd say it's slightly better than, let's say, Our Frank and Pregnant For The Last Time, both of which were singles.

absolutely. fell in love w/ that song the first time i heard it.
I'd say it's miles better!
Morrissey's decision to put a song on a B-side don't have to mean that he regards them as weaker. He has said once, when he was asked why Nobody Loves Us was just a B-side, that he believes that B-sides should be as good as A-sides, and that he thinks Nobody Loves Us is one of his best songs.

Cool, the studio version is so underrated. It has a completely different feel from the live version, it's a fantastic composition both ways.
only use studio recordings (no live takes)

3 sister i'm a poet

I agree, although I still give a slight preference to the studio version. Live version sounds very dramatic, and the guitar is great, but Morrissey's voice is especially creepily seductive in the studio version, which makes the studio version particularly chilling in a subtle way. And, of course, there is the additional verse.i was thinking the exact same thing when i saw you'd asked the question about which version. the studio version and the live version are so very different, but both fantastic.
