Morrissey at your funeral?

After reading a (probably fictional) thread on another message board about someone's friend who drowned going for a swim after a night's drinking, I got to thinking which Morrissey song I would ask to be played at my funeral...

I'm sure there are some gems to be played - You Have Killed Me and First of the gang to die being some poor obvious ones...

I think I would go for Scott Walker's version of Brel's Funeral Tango!

Oh by the way, in the drowning story above the guy wanted Everybody Hurts played but there was a mix-up and they played Nightswimming... allegedly!

I'm sorry but that is very funny. I don't really sit around and plan my funeral and I don't think I would use it as a last chance effort to make my friends and family into Morrissey fans if I did. I think I would stick with traditional church organ music anyway.

Good mistake. Nightswimming rules!

I would have Everyday Is Like Sunday played while they are sealing my tomb, hehe. Of course the funeral would have to take place on a Sunday.

Yeah, but did you get that the guy drowned while swimming at night? It's like having There Is A Light That Never Goes Out played at the funeral of someone that was hit by a 10 ton truck. Actually that would be a great idea.

Oops, I didn't catch that. Sometimes I read posts too quickly. That is a bit twisted, if that drowning/funeral story is true.

Death of a Disco Dancer

Or a rush and a push.

Id change the first line to " Hello this is the ghost of troubled Stu".

If I hanged myself it would really top things off!

Do Your Best and Don't Worry followed by Everyday is like Sunday

Speedway has a finality to it which I quite like almost confessional in places. Knowing my family they'd play something by Van Morrisson and then all go get drunk!

Now I Am A Was?

Or, equally, (I'm) The End Of The Family Line

Or, even, I Don't Mind If You Forget Me ;-)
